Future Drought Fund's Networks
to Build Drought Resilience

The FRRR program in Condobolin drew an impressive and diverse crowd, with 96 attendees representing various segments of the community. The evening brought together farmers, school teachers, business owners, Indigenous participants, and members of the Junior Rugby League Club the Condo Rams. The age range spanned from teenagers to those over 60, highlighting the broad appeal and relevance of the event.

A key highlight of the evening was the impactful presentations by individuals with lived experiences of mental illness, shared through the Black Dog Institute (BDI). These powerful testimonies resonated deeply with the audience, prompting many to reflect on their own situations and recognise the need for support. The feedback from attendees underscored the community's need for such an uplifting event, with many expressing gratitude for the insights and coping strategies provided by the BDI.

One of the evening's most touching moments occurred when Bob, a speaker from the Black Dog Institute, became emotional during his speech. The crowd responded with warmth and encouragement, creating a supportive atmosphere that underscored the event's emotional impact. This moment exemplified the deep connection and empathy shared among attendees. Following the event, many community members approached Bob, acknowledging their struggles, and expressing a newfound readiness to seek help. This openness to seeking support was a significant and proud outcome for the evening.
